Rustin Mangum has extensive experience in all facets of litigation with particular expertise in complex litigation and intellectual property matters. His experience includes cases involving patents, trademarks, trade secrets, copyrights, defamation, First Amendment, consumer protection, and contract enforcement as well as strategy development, counseling, and licensing. He has worked for many large corporate clients including Apple, Western Digital, Ingevity, Pegatron, and Oakley as well as individual clients. He has represented clients in the federal courts, International Trade Commission, Patent Trial and Appeal Board at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and in California state court. He previously worked at the international law firm of Gibson Dunn.

Mr. Mangum also serves part time as a JAG officer in the United States Air Force Reserve. In this capacity, he gained additional trial experience enforcing the Uniform Code of Military Justice and working as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney. He currently serves as the Staff Judge Advocate (equivalent to Chief Legal Officer or General Council) for the Reserve wing at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada.

Mr. Mangum earned his law degree in 2011 from William & Mary School of Law, where he served as an editor of the William & Mary Law Review. Upon graduation, he was inducted into Order of the Coif (honors) and The Order of Barristers (excellence in oral advocacy). He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah with a major in physics and minors in mathematics and aerospace studies.

Prior to law school, Mr. Mangum served as a pilot and officer in the United States Air Force where he flew over 100 combat and combat support missions.

Mr. Mangum is a member of the California Bar and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, and in the U.S. District Courts for the Central District of California, Northern District of California, and Eastern District of Texas.
